Mornin’ Air Fambly…..I’m Home..one set of fingers frozen from Raynaud’s .. the other frozen from ‘R’ + swollen like 5 little cheerio sausages from the Carpal Tunnel Experience.

I must say having local anaesthetic was interesting for a Curiosity Cat like me! Unpleasant, but fascinating at the same time. It did feel like they were preparing my arm for some sort of gruesome experiment when they began, wrapping my arm, incredibly tightly, in a downwards direction from the wrist, with wide stretchy rubber tape to drain all the blood out. Then the double tourniquet took over the job of keeping the blood away. Then they started pumping in the local deadener which felt like I was being burnt on the inside, as it flowed through,…quite startling, it was VERY HOT, that sensation. In spite of being given ‘sedation’ I was fully awake…I must be as hard as a horse to knock out…..

Actually it was like a super-giant dose of Raynauds…everything cold, stiff & numb…..

I’ve also discovered that I can add Endone Analgesics to my list of not tolerated medications… I was looking forward to being nicely drowsy with the pain killers last night but instead had to concentrate hard on not throwing up! Bumma! So its only Paracetamol for me & lots of distraction (like writing to you lot!)

My hubby goes to work at 7 am….way too early for me to want to be up, showered & dressed..my lovely man is popping home from work at 10am to get me sorted for the rest of the day. Tomorrow my daughter will come by & help with the ablutions. Crikey it’s odd having to rely on help for this basic personal stuff…at least I can use the Loo unaided…..THAT I would find intolerable!

I’m supposed to keep checking my ‘done’ hand for blood supply…mmmmmm….since there are only fingers poking out above a big fat bandage, full of wadding & even my undone hand is numb from Raynauds this morning, how am I meant to tell if the lack of sensation in my ‘Done’ hand is only the Raynauds…..if you get my drift…….

All I know is Don’t Move Anything or it’ll hurt like HELL!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Currently I feel like Stumpy the Clown!

Now I’ll catch up on the Posts until Shower Experiment Time!

Cheers,

GIO

I'm sure glad you are home and the surgery is over...

Now it's just a matter of time. And time takes time so get lots of rest while the fingers heal.

God Bless you.
