Hi All-

I'm back to being a blood pressure problem. It has steadily crept back up for

the last few weeks despite being kept hypothyroid (I haven't been kept

hypothyroid long enough to develop high cholesterol and subsequent high BP-so

this is probably pregnancy related) but it kept me out of the danger zone for

long enough for the babies to reach 35 weeks and to be out of any real risk for

premie problems (Hooray!!!!!). So, I'm thankful for that. Eleanor is now 4 lbs

11 oz and Arthur is 5 lbs 9 oz. If I hold out til next week, they'll both be

over 5 lbs which makes me happy.

The perinatalogist thinks the babies will come next week and I'm coming in twice

a week now (2 stress tests and one peri-visit). She's leaning towards a C-sec

but is leaving the final decision (unless I start exhibiting symptoms of

preecampsia) to me. I can't decide what to do since Eleanor is right where

she's supposed to be for a vaginal birth but Arthur will not cooperate and is

breeched. The peri thinks that it's unlikely that he'll turn now.

I'm inclined towards the C-sec because I don't want to risk their wellbeing at

all. I had one unmedicated natural birth and, that time, we almost lost my son

due to fetal distress (his placenta was very small). These babies appear to

have normal sized placentas (I've been on steroids throughout pregnancy) but U/S

isn't perfect.

Anyways, a C-section won't break my heart. There has been nothing about this

pregnancy that has been normal from preconception onwards and I've been ready

for this too since the outset. All I really care about is having the babies be

as healthy as possible.

Take care,
