Swimming lessons was swimming backstroke

I can't swim at all - totally afraid of water on my face; actually,

to be exact, water going up my nose. Does anyone wear one of those

nose clips; do they help? Has anyone had experience of those " we

guarantee to teach you to swim " weeks? I'm thinking seriously of

doing one now that the kids are old enough to leave for a week but

I'm afraid of being the 0.1% failure rate! Are you ever too old to

learn to swim?
