Guest guest
Ruthie, DH got one for work a month ago and we've had one at home for just over 2 weeks. Ours is a freestanding one that's mainly chrome, which looks good in our conservatory. Ours will deliver cooled and non-cooled water, which we need for cooking (on borehole, no mains water). Currently we're going through 19l every 2-3 days and it certainly beats carting bottles from the Co-Op. Oh, and we've not had any problems with our inquisitive 22m old DD yet either! Guest guest
We have one of these at work - it's wonderful. They come every 3 months i think to clean its insides, and we wipe round the outside and drip tray as we go. Ours also does hot water too as we don't have access to a kettle. We have to phone to order more water but they usually deliver next day or next but one if they're really busy. There are 5 of us using it and we get through about 3 a month I think. But obviously it depends on how much. They are very easy to change - well at least very easy to take the old one off - " man's work " when it coming to up-ending and lifting the new one. Definitely a good idea to have it out of kiddy reach. DS treats ours like a toy when he visits my office, filling the plastic cup SOooo full, squashing said plastic cup so it slops over the floor (or on a bad day splits and waterfalls) then refilling it then squashing then refilling - you get the picture. With our one, you can't actually turn the water supply off. Turning the power off just turns off the refrigeration unit but doesn't stop the water when the tap is pushed. Needless to say trips to the office with DS are infrequent and quick, unless we need the floor washing. It's a shame they don't let you keep the empty bottles (presumably they reuse them) as they would be ideal for money collecting (though would take forever to fill). A lady at work did ask for one to keep and they arrived with one with a cracked top for her as they couldn't reuse it, so you can get them but not perfect ones.
