Hello, all!

Just wanted to thank all those who wrote to welcome me to the group. It's

obvious that you guys have really formed quite a family here, and that is

wonderful!! I have participated in several other mailing lists for years,

and the feelings there are very much the same among the members, and I know

how much it means to know that one is not alone... and that there are others

to offer understanding, love, and support!! When I had my recent surgery in

Atlanta, one of those groups surprised me by sending flowers and a huge

teddy bear to the hospital!! I was overwhelmed!

Thank you for the sugtestions on dealing with the itch. I finally went to a

dermatologist yesterday. He told me that I could use the Aveeno cream I had

bought .... no problem. Well, I used it liberally yesterday, and today the

rash seems much more inflamed!! :(( He also gave me some antihistamines to

take... Allegra during the day and Atorax to take at night. The Atorax

makes me sleepy, so it helps in that sense. I had taken Benadryl tablets

for two days straight, but that didn't seem to be doing much good. At this

point, I'm afraid to do much to it.... for fear of making it worse yet. And

it's the weekend..... so no doctors readily available. I guess I'll just

have to let it run its course.... and do my best not to scratch. I take

showers four or five times a day... and that helps.

I try not to think about it.... but to be honest, this itch is MUCH worse

than the surgery ever was!!

Again, thanks for the welcome!

My best to everyone!

Mike :)

Mike, I hope you get some relief soon with the itchies. I am

wondering that maybe taking too many showers on it may agravate it.

Showering removes the natural oils in your skin. I wonder that you

may need the natural oils to help combat the rash. But I am not a

doctor. Just am hoping that it gets better for you fast. Ingrid
