Guest guest
They did a CT I still don't know exactly whether some of his many tumors have grown or if new ones showed up in one of the lobes . They compare each scan to the one before it to get an idea of what the progress is. Narice
Guest guest
Phil has had chemo right a long he has always stage 4 since June 19 2003. Actually they found out about the cancer when he came in with back pain and vomiting. caused by all his liver mets. After they did a colonoscopy of course they found the colon tumor. Just one in the colon but that one was a whopping 13 cm. This after the FOLFOX and Avastin chemo In Dec.2004 the colon tumor was gone BUT the liver mets remained so no NED. April 2005 they inserted a hepatic artery pump to deliver chemo straight to all those liver mets. He continued Avastin via regular IV and added FUDR in his pump In July the pump was leaking FUDR into his stomach and caused an ulcer so they plugged up the leak and back to the same. Since their is now new or increased growth of the mets we are talking a new chemo. Whenever there is growth they try something new. My guess is it will be Erbitux. Narice Phil's history is also in the files section

Guest guest
Sorry to hear about the bad news. I just wanted to remind you to make sure they watch Phil for a severe allegric reaction to the Erbitux if he ends up taking it. My dad almost died from that -- the drug had only been adminstered approx. 30 sec. If my sister hadn't been in the same room with him, she is a nurse, it is hard to tell what would have happened. Not trying to scare you - just wanted you to be aware.
