Guest guest
Hi all, I just want to thank everyone on the board for doing what you do. Because of you I have a thyroid gland. I just received my latest lab results today and am soooo grateful! They are: FT4 1.18 (range .90 - 1.70) T3 1.87 (range 80 - 200) TSH .14 (range .27 - 4.2) Last May, my FT4 and T3 we both about 20% above normal and my TSH was less than .02. My only major symptom was sudden and pronounced double vision and that only lasted 2 weeks; in fact, it went away before doctor's even diagnosed my GD. (They thought it was a brain injury, because I'd hit my head in a fall.) My endo scheduled me for an RAI after I got the 'itchies' from TAP - he refused to lower my dose or prescribe PTU! Then I read Elaine's book and joined the group. Because of you all I had the awareness and guts to cancel the RAI. Whether this is a case of spontaneous remission or whether the various stress reducing techniques or supplements I've tried have helped, I really don't know. But I do know that I came within days of having my thyroid gland removed and that this wouldn't have helped my eyes anyway! This is the first time my TSH has registered above .02 and I believe (hope) it, too, will soon be in the normal range - I get tested every 3 months. So thank you all. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving (and Chanukah) and know that what you're doing here really, really matters.
