Hi Everyone,

I am colon cancer survivor, been down the chemo, rad., surgey road.

They ( I ) caught mine a bit late. I now sport duel ostomies for the

rest of my life.

So far I am cancer free and dealing with the changes to my body. I had

surgery a year ago and was a rock at that time but it is wearing on me

already.

I would really like to talk to someone who can relate.

>>>I have accepted my life it would just be nice to talk to someone that would

not notice my issues and just talk to Greg.

This is a wonderful group and I think you will begin to feel you are with family

real quick:)

I joined trying to find support and a kinship with people who know what it is

like to deal with the " issues " of living with bowel problems. I lost 1/3 of my

colon and 30 " of small intestine a little over a year ago. I did not have colon

cancer, but uterine cancer. The radiation treatments damaged my intestinal

system, so I lost a bunch of it.

It has not yet improved to where I can go much of anywhere. I'm still hoping it

will.

Anyway, I believe you've found your place.....this whole bunch is great:)

Welcome you are in the right place. Check out the files section of the

website for lots of information and some of our stories.

Currently there are 2 or 3 with colostomies or reversals and I'm sure they

will be writing soon.

Again Welcome

Narice

PS Is your name Greg if not what would you like to be called

Hi Greg, Welcome to our group. We are all trying to be survivors

here. I first discovered I had colon cancer Sept. 04. Went through

six months of chemo. Recent Pet/Cat scan revealed something in my

lungs. Had surgery and that came up negative. Then they discovered

another tumor wrapped up in scar tissue. Was only the size of a bean

but was found by accident. Had scar tissue that was choking my

intestine and they went in to remove it. Found the small tumor then.

So had the two surgeries just six days apart. Not sure what

treatments I am facing yet for this. Am still healing so will talk to

ONC in a couple of weeks. So please tell us more about yourself and

post here. Am glad to have another survivor here. Ingrid

I know how you feel about the cancer consuming your life, and needing to talk

about something else for a while. As a caregiver, I am struggling with that

because it is really hard getting it out of your mind. I have no idea about the

ostomies.

I think you will find that this is a pretty upbeat group, and plenty of

non-cancer " talk " goes on.

Welcome,

MA
