Guest guest
Hi Pam, I don't think I'd add the tyrosine because it can raise blood pressure and have other undesirable side effects. And with amino acids, it's best to take a complex so you don't create other imbalances. Interesting that other people have mentioned very similar reactions to the ones you described from inadvertently ingesting iodine and eating foods loaded with garlic. Take care, Elaine
Guest guest
Hey Laurel, I am reading my post to you and it looks like I am trying to kill you off ! My point in suggesting the L-Tyrosine for you, is because I was not as hypo as you are, and I do not have a T3 problem. Thus this was not right for ME. But we do need to wait and see what Elaine has to say. :-) -Pam L-
Guest guest
Elaine, I'm eavesdropping here...is garlic bad for us? I never heard that and I cook with it quite a bit. Guest guest
Hi Kristi, They say garlic is an immune system BOOSTER. A bad thing for anyone with an overactive immune system. That said, I did continue using a very small amount of garlic, and only once in awhile. I tried to use the smallest amount possible to make things taste at least close to right. Say a tiny dash in a huge pot of whatever. -Pam L-

Guest guest
Hi Kristi, Garlic is sort of weird in that some hyper people react to it. Actually, I first heard of the connection on this board and then read it elsewhere. I've never had the problem and confess to loving garlic, but some hyper people apparently react to one of the chemical compounds in it. If you haven't noticed anything you should be safe. Guest guest
Boy, I hope not. I ingest about 3 cloves of garlic a day in my food. I use fresh garlic in just about everything. I thought it was GOOD for you! Re: Laurel - Elaine Elaine, I'm eavesdropping here...is garlic bad for us? I never heard that and I cook with it quite a bit.
