Is this the product you are talking about? I didn't look at all the others, but someone showed me this one, who may be sulfur sensitive, and I noticed it contains NAC and broccoli. So I'm just curious if anyone has used it and noticed if it's enough to make a difference. The NAC worries me, because it was 600mg.----------Jackie > > http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/item01246.html Jackie, That's a good point and I wasn't thinking about the NAC and other sulfury stuff, particularly for my husband. He has never done sulfur exclusion, and judging from his spontaneous avoidance of many sulfur foods he might be high cysteine. The trouble is it is hard to get him to take supplements if there are multiple bottles of stuff to juggle. I will have to get him to try sulfur exclusion to clarify his sulfur status, or find another multi for him. Thanks for pointing this out. ---------Yes, the convenience of a good multi would be great, and the person pointed out the broccoli to me, asking if this would be too much sulfur, and then when I looked, I noticed the NAC too. This concerned me more, because I am normal cysteine, eat sulfur foods, but when I have tried NAC or MSM, I have had reactions to them. Andy has said that is common/normal, to react more strongly to the supps than to food. So, if this would have only had the broccoli, I was going to tell him to try it, but with the NAC too, I am more leary of it.-------Jackie I consider myself normal cysteine since I don't seem to fit either of the extremes, and I only take about 1/3 the daily dose of the LEM. I'm not aware of it being a problem (but it wouldn't be the first time that I'm not aware of something that's a problem). In any case, if I stop using it for him, I won't bother getting it just for me. --------Has your husband been taking the LEM? For how long? Does he take a full dose? Has he noticed anything? Maybe he can tolerate it? It's too bad the sulfury stuff is in there, because this sounds like a good product otherwise. But it should be fine for some people.---------Jackie --

Then, if appropriate, try NAC alone. If NAC is tolerated and desired, and if they have good reason to believe they would be okay with the other ingredients, then they could try the Life Extension Mix. > I consider myself normal cysteine since I don't seem to fit either > of the extremes, and I only take about 1/3 the daily dose of the LEM. > I'm not aware of it being a problem (but it wouldn't be the first > time that I'm not aware of something that's a problem). Maybe he can tolerate it? Heh - I just asked him and he says he's only been taking 5 caps per day. Interesting. I think I will try to get him back on a minimal set of individual supps. That's what he was doing for awhile, but he (1) seems to have trouble opening bottles sometimes (I believe this is a consequence of his long term inappropriate use of ALA once a day with amalgams), and (2) he can't remember how much to take of each thing and when, so I have to put them into other small bottles labeled like " zinc - 2 tabs per day with food " , " vit C - 4 caps per day with food " , etc. Since he gets impatient with too many of these, I tend to give him a set of 5 at a time and then rotate supps in and out every month or so. Anyway, false hope I'm afraid. You shouldn't assume you've found someone who tolerates LEM okay. I suspect he probably doesn't. I also asked him if he noticed any changes since he started taking it (maybe a couple months now). First he said he might be more tired, then he waved it off as working long hours, etc. Don't know how I will get him to try sulfur exclusion. He has just decided in the past couple of months to become a coffee drinker. Sigh. > It's too bad the sulfury stuff is in there, because this sounds like a good product otherwise.
