When Andy talks about doubling the dose until the effects are too strong, I don't think he means withing one chelation round. One chelation round is to be kept at the same dose unless effects are already too strong in which case he suggests stopping. If you follow posts in archives you will find that his advise is to find the dose that is comfortable and chelate at that dose for several months before increasing. He also suggests increasing by small increments, not doubling. > > Is 50mg per 8 hours an OK starting dose? It's usually too high for most adults. There is no point starting too high and scaring yourself. It is very easy to dump the powder on a flat plate, divide by eye in to 4 equal doses, and put each dose in a fresh capsule. See TKs general chelation recommendations in the files section. I read about people on here > having trouble tolerating 12mg. > The side effects I had at 25 mg were enough to scare me off. 18 mg was an ok dose for me to start at. I chelated at that dose for 1.5 years before increasing to 25 mg. > What side effects should I expect or take as a warning to stop > immediately? Anything that you would consider 'too much'. Everyone is different in what mercury symptoms they have. For me it was brain symptoms - my thinking was so screwed up that I didn't feel safe. At the end of the round I had the usual stress 'feel like I was just hit by a truck' reaction that went on for longer than a week. Side effects like fatigue and so on should only go on for a day or so after the round if the dose is right. Should I continue through the full 3 day round to > prevent redistribution, even if I'm experiencing symptoms? > It depends on the symptoms. Only you can be the judge of what is too much. Don't worry about harming yourself. At these low doses there is little harm from the side effects. At the high doses used in DMPS IVs and other inappropriate protocols there is regression which is long lasting and harmful. There is a BIG difference between side effects that are gone in the short term and regression which lasts a long time. > Should I feel better during or after the chelation round? > When the dose was too high I felt worse on the round and had to stop. When the dose was just right I feel way better on round and have side effects when I stop. J > Thanks, > >
Guest guest
Thanks for your feedback. From Amalgam Illness page 203, " Recommendations: DMPS: Every 8 hours, start with 50 mg and increase succeeding doses x1.5 or 2 until target dose is reached. Continue 4-14 days, then take a break of 4-14 days and repeat. " I'm too lazy to divide up the capsules and Andy's recommendation is to start at 50 mg. So I think I'm just gonna go with that. The Amalgam Illness book makes no mention of lower than 50mg doses. It suggests 50-100mg as the lowest adequate dose. I feel like I'm pretty healthy and strong for a mercury toxic person and can handle pretty much anything. If anyone has any objections let me know. > > > > Hello, > > > > I am about to receive my DMPS in the mail in a couple days. This will > > be my first chelation round ever since the amalgam removal. The best advice I received from the people on this group was to start at a lower dose than what was recommended in the book. I started at 12.5mg of DMSA, and it took me a year to get to 25mg. I felt good on rounds at the lower dose, so I actually looked forward to chelating. I have tried DMPS now this year, and I only tolerate 15mg of that, 20mg felt like too much. Now I understand that we are all different, and maybe some people can start at 50mg and do just fine, but we are just warning you that this may be too much for you, and we don't want to see you make yourself worse. But of course, the final decision is yours, we are just sharing our experiences with you.-------Jackie I feel like I'm pretty healthy and strong for a mercury toxic person and can handle pretty much anything. Guest guest
TK--- Many people have hurt themselves using too much to start with over the years and made themselves worse which is why we caution people to start with lower dosages. I would strongly suggest not starting this high - side effects can be [very] severe and long lasting if you use too much and they do not always start right away. Starting low and gradually increasing over a number of rounds is much safer. Being lazy may get you hurt, it is not hard to split up capsules. Please review the files section on how to start. It is your decision, please be carefull. > > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > I am about to receive my DMPS in the mail in a couple days.
