Guest guest
I have been dosing on 50 mg DMSA, and 30 mg capsules of ALA. That was working great for me, I got the capsules of ALA at Vitamin World, they were the only place that had 30 mg of ALA. They have discontinued that size there, so I bought 60 mg of ALA from Solgar. I just take half the capsule and mix it in grape juice, and then mix the 50 MG of DMSA. I am having a lof of brain fog, stomach issues from doing it this way. I liked just popping the capsules and drinking it with water. Is mixing the 2 in grape juice fine? Or could it be a different brand of ALA? I'm going to lower the dose of ALA and see what happens.

They mix it in juice for the kids, so this should be fine, but I think they recommend a more acidic juice.---------Jackie I am having a lof of brain fog, stomach issues from doing it this way. It could be the different brand of ALA, Val recently reported having trouble using a different brand. Maybe the potency isn't accurate in the new brand, and you're getting more than you think? I would do some experimenting like using a different juice, doing DMSA only, and trying another brand of ALA.-----Jackie I'm going to lower the dose of ALA and see what happens. ---------Yes, try that also. If this brand is actually stronger than the one you were using, regardless of what the packaging says, then that might be the problem. Let us know what happens.--------Jackie

Guest guest
I noticed a similar thing in the past with me. I got really cheap 'Doctor's Best' 35mgs capsule at iherb that were being discontinued. They worked fine and I used them for my first 3 months of ALA chelation.... Then I tried Kirkman's 50mg capsules, thinking because the 35mg Doctor's Best were starting to go down easy at the end of the bottle, so I might try upping my dose from 35mg to 50mg. Well, I was knocked on my ass by the 50mg (it was not a pleasant experience for my girlfriend, either!). I had to reduce back down to 35mg with the Kirkmans, when I know I could tolerate more of the cheaper brand. I don't know if the Doctor's Best was getting old and hence weaker, or the Kirkman's was just better quality. I suspect both. I am not saying the cheaper ALA brands don't work, however. I detoxed very well on my US$4 bottle of Doctor's Best for 3 months. Talk about value for money!! I just think that there can be a difference, and you need to consider that when dosing. Guest guest
So it seems the best thing to do would be to stick with the same brand of ALA throughout chelation, but if that's not possible, then you should be careful and aware that when you change brands, that the potency of them might not be the same, and you made need to adjust your dosage.---------Jackie In frequent-dose-chelation Ed wrote: I noticed a similar thing in the past with me.
