Guest guest
Hi Elaine, I must not have described the effect of L - Tyrosine adequately. Since I have had both the iodine affect and this amino acid...they are very different. The iodine is more like being hyper, and the L-Tyrosine was like taking some kind of illegal drug meant to speed you up. Two completely different feelings, and hard to put into words. If I remember right I was down to only my multi with some amino acids and no iodine when I tried this. I had dropped everything else ,thinking I had to start over on my supplements since they had gotten me to remission, but I had switched to a bit hypo. At first I wondered if one of the supplements was my problem, and reading 's site, I had , in desperation, after my endo told me I was fine and it was all in my head, I started trying 's recommendations for hypo. One at a time, since I had already learned not to add things to fast, and give myself time to see what each one would do. For ME, it turned out Synthroid was the only way. I KNOW my lab numbers, and could prove to the next doctor that what I was saying as I had four years of lab slips to prove it. So tired of hearing it is not your thyroid by then. :-( It's a darn shame what wanting to be able to earn a living can force us to try. Oh...the other thing is too much iodine also gives me a 'iodine hangover' for about two or three days afterwards. It makes me fuzzy headed and exhausted. The L-Tyrosine did not do this. It hit me hard and fast, and then was gone. Iodine makes me awake and thyroid sick, and L-Tyrosine makes me angry. Thought I should clear this up. -Pam L-
Guest guest
Pam, I looked this up. L-trysoine acts like a stimulant because that is exactly what it is....norepinepherine. Sorry about the misspellings, I haven't found the spellchecker on this program and its been a very trying day. No wonder you felt pumped up! I don't know how you managed work and this stuff! I think its psychological but I'm already feeling foggy. Yup, it has to be psychological. Proud to be part of the " all in your head " society. Guest guest
Laurel, Well, that 'splains it. Where did you find this info ? How did I work ? Didn't say I enjoyed it. But it is the only choice I have. The other choice being a shopping cart. THAT will get one out the door in the morning. Then they told me I needed to get in exercise everyday. Yah right ! My 'exercise was getting the energy to get out of the van and into the house at night. Super human effort required, but I did it everyday. I did find working 7 days a week was easier though because I could keep each day shorter. The cool part is finding self employment is THE way to go. Might not have had the nerve to try it if I was not 'forced into it'. Now I could never go back to working for someone else. Now when I put in a good days work and see my ideas and work at the end of the day, not only do I profit instead of someone else, but there is the satisfaction of seeing it, and also knowing that I do not have to ever worry about employment. My house payment WILL be paid. I keep changing jobs to when I am tired of one. Kind of neat. -Pam L-

Guest guest
Yowza Pam! Well heck, I typed the thing into a search engine and a whole bunch of body building stuff came up. So I clicked on one and found out what it was. Holy crapola! Exercise? That would be nigh on to impossible. Isn't it amazing what we do because we haven't been told that we can't? I'm constantly amazed. After this is all over, at least controlled, I might look into self-employment if my Masters is out of the question. Can't get fired is good eh? Smiling at the possibility of it all, Laurel Re: - Elaine > Laurel, > > Well, that 'splains it. Where did you find this info ? > > How did I work ? Didn't say I enjoyed it. Guest guest
Hi Pam, Thanks for clarifying. Tyrosine is a precursor for several neurotransmitters and also thyroid hormone. Considering how quickly you noticed effects, it must be related to neurotransmitter production. Have a great weekend, elaine
