Guest guest
Quality and Condition of various types of units varies widely from area to area. I've lived in small towns where the nicest complex in town was subsidized. I've lived other places where most subsidized housing was poorly maintained. In the area I presently live, one subsidized complex gets some of the best reviews of any apartments and when it comes to senior apartments, all the major affordable units are subsidized and are excellent complexes. > > Sher, all of my units have self-cleaning ovens and sealed tops. That's because the ladies in the family units do not clean, even with the self cleaning. It saves me hours of labor and costs to have self-cleaning stoves when they move out. > Jack > 79/IPF - UIP/dx06/05 Maine > > > > > ________________________________ > From: Sher Bauman bofus@... > To: Breathe-Support > Sent: Monday, April 20, 2009 2:18:27 PM > Subject: Re: Beverly Joy / Jack > > > > > > Jack, we've held off going into family units. The big majority of them are soooo poorly kept. I could qualify now. Perhaps we should look again but there again, as BJ and I have talked about, the moving is overwhelming at our ages. > HEY BJ....as Jack says too, find an area there in WA and get an app. in. You can always say no later or work around the circumstances when you are notified. > Ask your daughter to send pictures or get a website so you can 'see' the place. If you really like it call every few months so the manager gets to know you and that you are serious. Of course your name comes up from a list but it still helps to be on good relationship w/mgr. Gives you lots of bits of info..... and sometimes even nice favors. We got a new stove w/self-cleaning oven when it COULD have gone to someone else because we are on good terms w/mgr. They like showing our apt to tenants because it's always clean and it's nicely decorated and we are nice people. You'd be surprised how many people are chronic complainers and pack-rats. Stuff all over their porches until bugs arrive with the rats. The managers don't like dealing with that sort, of course. > We do have a nice complex, lots of trees. In fact, I think in my album there is a picture or two.... > MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. > Nasturtiums > Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! > > Hi Sher > > Sorry to hear you have been so sick. Guest guest
Same thing here Bruce. One huge reason why we stay put. We know a good thing when we see it. If the time comes to make another decision we'll do it then..... MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! Hi Sher>> Sorry to hear you have been so sick.
