Guest guest
Hi Aldyth- I think it was the combination of being immunosuppressed from the pregnancy plus the immunosuppression from the steroids. Flu vaccines are now being recommended here in the U.S. for women past their 1st trimester. It's a new recommendation though and the OB was uncomfortable recommending that while I was also on steroids. The OB didn't feel comfortable with me period considering all the weird stuff going on which is why he referred me to a perinatalogist. She hasn't said anything about getting a flu vaccine. The consultant is the physician that specializes in your son's 's right? If so, I'd go with his/her opinion before I'd go with a GPs. In people with compromised immune systems (like the elderly or the very young), vaccines can be helpful because they prevent a serious occurrence of the disease. It's the inundation with vaccines that bothers me. And the fact that your son has bad reactions to vaccines also is concerning and must be considering before administering anything. Take care, dx & RAI 1987 (at age 24) > I was considering having my son vaccinated with the flu injection, but now I don't think I will. Did you doctor think it would be too much for your system being on the ATD's and the steroids?
