Guest guest
It depends on individual airlines and insurance companies. I have flown at 30 weeks before now and will be flying back from Boston at just under 31 weeks pregnant this time (that's only 15 weeks away so only 14 weeks until I go!!! And I'm going to America at least once if not twice before that - phew that's a lot of flying at least only one trip is with the children!!!) You'll probably need to get a note from your midwife saying that you are fit to travel - but phone up the airline anonymously and ask what their policy is before you do anything!!! On the 'plane drink lots and move around as much as you can!! http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ fab131 wrote: > We would like to fly to California in or about January next year when > I will be about 28-31 weeks pregnant with no. 3. Guest guest
I don't know what the airlines say, but my annual travel insurance says it will not pay any costs arising from pregnancy or childbirth if the EDD is less than 12 weeks after the end of your trip. I wouldn't fancy having to pay American medical costs myself!! Lesley -------------- From: fab131 We would like to fly to California in or about January next year when I will be about 28-31 weeks pregnant with no. 3. Does anyone know what the " cut off " date is. I have had two full-term babies and no real problems during pregnancy (bit of anaemia but worked full-time right up until the last minute with both, swam half a mile 18 hours before DD2 was born etc etc). Guest guest
It is different from airline to airline.. they are usually from around 28 weeks until 32 weeks but you will have to ring up and get the airlines policy on it.. When I flew to Denmark at 28 weeks pg I needed a gp letter. I found that rather absurd as my own gp was on holiday so it was his partner who did it (whom I have seen once in the 4 years they have been my gp's) and all he wrote was Mrs Fletcher is 28 weeks pg week beginning ... and fit to fly... Reality was that he had no idea if I was or not (I know he would have looked at my notes but I had not seem mw for 3 weeks at that stage) but airline took his word rather than mine Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. Guest guest
It depends a bit on the airline - I flew home from Malaysia at 36 weeks, which was pretty much right up to the deadline. That was a virgin ticket, but a BA flight. The airlines aren't so much of a problem as the insurance - you have to really shop around to make sure you're getting insurance which doesn't have exclusions for *any* pg related problems after 30ish weeks, IIRC. I think I got mine through the internet, in the end - and it had no pg exclusions at all.
