I have a bottle of 5htp that I have not used yet because I don't know

if there are risks with taking it at night along with other " sleep

helps " such as melatonin or phosphatidylserine. And, how does one

know if 5htp would be beneficial or not? I dream alot after 2am & I

am restless until I get up at 6:30am. Or is 5htp for people who are

depressed and don't dream. Please clarify if you can help. Thanks,

Sidney

There isn't per say a " risk " . It is usually used to increase serotonin

and melatonin in the brain. Mainly for depression. PS lowers high

nighttime cortisol and is good for brain. Melatonin good for sleeping.

Trying it is probably the only way to see if it will help you or not.

Sidney - 5htp is a serotonin precursor. I think it would be more

sensible to take that in the AM, so you can produce more serotonin

during the day; then take the melatonin in the PM.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to make sense.

I'm curious how phosphatidlyserine helps with sleep?
