Forgive me if I'm wrong, but don't all kids go through a phase of this? DD (2y

1m) is at the moment and demanding 'wash hands' at every oportunity (as soon as

she discovers the food she has been eating has left a residue on her hands, half

way through painting, or suddenly when she decides the sand in the sandpit is

too damp and sticking to her hand). I think it has something to do with the

smart step we got in Ikea (it was very cheap) and is just the right height so

she can reach the taps and the soap.
