LOL! Your theory wouldn't account for the flamboyant Tudor, Regency

etc fashions of history, though!! Maybe it's just the British psyche

and is something to do with trying to get the better of our grey

weather.

Now, no one take offence at this, but I have a theory that

many British people dress quite outrageously and

flamboyantly as a reaction to having worn uniforms in

school. Either because they never, ever want to wear a blue

jumper with a grey skirt (or whatever) again in their

whole, entire life, or else some of them because they have

never figured out *how* to dress in an individual way

without going to the extreme. But then, I live in London

where the outrageous and flamboyant congregate, so my view

might be skewed :)
