Guest guest
Anyway, have you had your hemoglobin A1c tested? It tells how you've been handling blood sugar over the past couple of months, not just one moment in time. Might be worth doing. Also, does arsenic show up on your hair test? Mine is high, and this can also affect your blood sugar. Read the parts about arsenic in the HTI book. If this is the case, then Andy says as low a carb diet as you can stand, such as Atkins, is what to do.---------Jackie ** Hi Jackie, Thanks for reminding me about the hemoglobin A1c test. My doctor mentioned it to me but I forgot what it was called. I'm going to get that done. *Sam ** My arsenic wasn't that high on my hairtest. Only half-way up the green bar. All of my toxic metals were very low. Probably b/c i'm holding onto everything. *Sam > -----------I'm the same, all low hair test, but overweight, so it didn't really make sense to me either. I asked about this, and she told me that all low on my hair test meant that I am low on stomach acid, so not absorbing nutrients, but also that my body only digested the carbs, because they are easiest to digest when you are low on stomach acid, and so you gain weight from the carbs. And you need to take enough stomach acid (Betaine HCl) with each meal, which I wasn't doing. So if you're not taking enough stomach acid, your other supplements are just a waste of money, because you're not absorbing them. I think the other factors in my weight problem has been stress causing high cortisol and my blood sugar problems. I think the high cortisol happened years ago, because now my adrenals are worn out and not producing enough, so I don't fit the standard picture of hypoadrenal, being thin. And part of my problem may be the arsenic also. Anyway, hope this helps.-----Jackie ** WOW! Thank you for this piece of the puzzle. This makes a ton of sense to me. I'm sure I'm low on stomach acid too but get stomach aches when trying to add betaine HCL. I even currenlty take a proton pump inhibitor, which I know I've got to get off of somehow, but taking it helped my stomach to ache less. And the part about only digesting carbs makes so much sense to me too. When I cut processed carbs out of my diet my BM's are very loose. (sorry if too much info) But when I add them back in I am more solid. It really confused me since I know I've got a big yeast problem and the processed carbs just feed the yeast. And the suppliments, I've seen so many floating in the toilet it's worrysome. I am also hypoadrenal as well. *Sam

This makes a ton of sense to me. ======You're welcome, and I'm glad it makes sense to someone else also. It was very puzzling to me too, until explained it to me.---------Jackie I'm sure I'm low on stomach acid too but get stomach aches when trying to add betaine HCL. ========I know has said that some people have to start slow and build up the amount of Betaine HCl. And I'm not sure if it's related or would have anything to do with tolerating Betaine HCl, but also had me tested for H. pylori. If you are having stomach problems, maybe you should have that tested also, if you haven't already. Or, if you would tolerate this better, apple cider vinegar also helps with digestion by stimulating your own stomach to make more Betaine HCl. Or maybe you need to start with good probiotics, if you're not taking them already. I'm no expert on this digestion stuff, so just throwing out some ideas.---------Jackie I even currenlty take a proton pump inhibitor, which I know I've got to get off of somehow, but taking it helped my stomach to ache less. Sounds like you really need to work on your digestion/gut problems and get yeast under control.-----------Jackie I am also hypoadrenal as well. *Sam =========Are you doing anything to treat your adrenals?-------Jackie _.___ Messages in this topic (0) Reply (via web post) | Start a new topic Messages Change settings via the Web (Yahoo!
