Guest guest
Yes I had to talk to anesthesiologist before my surgery in Oct. I think it is good, but mostly to cover themselves in case something happens. They were worried about my breathing as I have COPD and wanted to make sure that I was aware of the dangers etc. Well I came through fine and they were so pleased, even after the 2nd surgery when I sprung a leak and they had to re do it all.. One of the anesthesiologists even came to see me after the surgery in my room. Was just so tickled that I came through okay. Made me feel good... Wish my lungs felt that good now. They are a mess - way too short of breath. Arghhhh... But I am breathing so that is a good sign.. Guest guest
Yes Jolene I have always heard that if you are breathing it is a very good sign:) I think my appt has to do with being diabetic but more so since irregular heart beats were discovered about a year ago. My Dr upped my blood pressure med and put me on a statin. He said it comes with age. I am a little concerned because they also want me to start a week before surgery on Lopressor which is another blood pressure med and still take my regular one. Said it would help prevent a heart attack during surgery. That sure makes me feel good! My blood pressure is really not that high and I hope I don't find myself on the floor with the two but they said this works different. I did take it years ago for blood pressure. Just over two years ago I had the nuclear thread mill and my heart was fine then. Hil Re: Question and insurance denial Yes I had to talk to anesthesiologist before my surgery in Oct. Guest guest
I have had three major surgeries now and never had to have an appointment with the anesthesalogist before the sugery. But again this may be a new policy they have put into effect. Who knows??? I am sure that if you called the doctors office the receptionist or whoever can get the insurance stuff straightened out. I hope for your sake it gets done before the 22nd. Sounds that your daughters have it all in hand. I would not worry too much about how they will handle your dog and the cats. I am sure they have that all figured out already. Surely she would make sure that they all get along before being left alone. Animals can surprise us with what they put up with. Your dog may be just fine especially when she will be out of his enviroment. Animals are smarter then sometimes we think. I hope all works out for you with the insurance. I am proud of your daughters comeing together for you in a time of your need. Ingrid > Has anyone had to have a appt with the anthesalogist before surgery? Boy I know I spelled that one wrong! Much to my surprise was a letter from my health insurance denying my surgery until they get more info from the Dr. The Dr office had just called today to confirm the 22nd for surgery and my appt with the above I can't spell on the 17th. I have bragged on how good my insurance company is and I am sure this is just a mix up with someone not filling out all the info or the person at health insurance not looking at my record. My health insurance nurse even called me about a week ago and knows I am having surgery. She said she would call back on the 18th to go over surgery with me. I really don't think that necessary as the surgeon has done that but did not tell her so. I am sure this will get approved but worry it won't get taken care of before the 22nd. As for me I would gladly put it off but two of my daughters have already put in for there vacation that week. What has not been discussed is who will stay with me when I get home but I have a idea they already have it planned I will go to my daughters house. She has wanted me to before and thinks it better with her one story ranch instead of my two story home. Another daughter understands I am much more comfortable at home but will have to do what I will have to. One big problem is my dog which she just don't see as a problem but since she has two cats I am not to sure about that:) Her husband and my grandson are both home all day and she will be home after work. > > Hil > > >

WOW I did it! You should have heard me sounding that out LOL. The drugs they give you can effect your heart and breathing so he will probably want to check out your current health in those areas to make sure there are no problems when he puts you under
