Guest guest
, My guess would be a more severe version of the muscle spasms you've had before. More severe right now because all those muscles are even more stressed and tense than they usually are. I had something like that back a couple of years ago during a bought of bronchitis. The only thing that helped was wrapping myself up in an electric blanket so that I had even heat all around my torso. I don't know if that would help you but it might be worth a try. If you don't have a heating blanket, a couple of heating pads might work too. Hope that helps and you feel much better soon! I've finished my Z-pack and have 1 more day of prednisone. For the most part I'm feeling better. I've had a good bit of energy yesterday and today. Before this bout of bronchitis I have had spasms near the lower lobes of my lungs. Always in one lung or the other and never both at the same time. I asked the pulmo about it at my last visit to Mayo and he said they were likely muscle spasms due to strained muscles working so hard to help me breath. For 2 days now I've had spasms in the same areas as before. But these spasms are a whole other magnitude than before. Just last night I was woken up by my own yelling from the pain around my left lung. Again this afternoon I was woken up from a nap with the same pain/spasm on the other side. There have been a few other incidents while I've been awake. They don't seem nearly as scary when I'm awake as they do when I'm woken up with them. Thanks in advance! Guest guest
, I understand your pain. I have been having muscle for the past month much worse this past week or so. I have been using a heating pad on my back and side. It kinda feels like I have deep bruising in my back. I am sure it is the coughing. heat does help. I also take ex strength tylenol. Sometimes a hot tub of water works too. Guest guest
Thank you Beth and Peggy! I wish I had posted this even sooner. Just knowing I'm not the only one makes it less scary. But, to have an idea of how to help with it is GREAT! I've been taking Teslon pearls and my Hycodan syrup on a strict schedule but never thought about using heat. You guys are the best! 33 FL IPF dx 1/06 > > > > I need to know if I am the only one... > I've been fighting bronchitis for almost a week now.
