I would then be considered an American (US citizen) I am US born of a mexican-american father, Spanish and English mother (from West Tampa a long estabished latino community), a Cuban stepgrandmother (very influencial) and a Puerto Rican husband with whom I lived in Puerto Rico for many years. I consider myself a bicultural Latina and American. As far as the Latino culture, I'm more Puerto Rican than the "biological" mix. That ethnic mix has influenced who I am as a USA citizen. I refer to myself as a Latina. American for me has always been a given, as growing up in New York City in the fifties almost everyone's grand parents were from some place else. Maybe I'm an American-Latina. Please let me know.
