Guest guest
Thanks for the answer. There is one more thing that I would to ask you: the high copper. The situation is this: 8 months ago my hair test showed I have high copper, zinc was normal. I started to take zinc 50-75 mg a day to get it down. I also took some manganese and molybdenum. My serum copper was also tested twice (below the range 11.5 (14-23)) and 24h urine copper which was low too (0.2 (0-1)). My ceruloplasmin was also low, it was tested twice and both times it was slightly below the range (0.21 (0.22-0.45)). (I probably dont have 's disease, no ring in the eye according to eye doctor and no abnormalities in liver enzymes) Anyway now 8 months later the copper is still exactly the same in the hair test though I have been taking zinc all this time!! Zinc has gotten higher though, its barely within the green now. The Zn/Cu ratio is below the range: 3.77 (4-20). So what might be going on here? Why isnt the copper getting down? Could it be that I dont have high copper at all but my the copper is from showering water or something? Thanks!!! Guest guest
joni, i have copper toxicity too and have learned a lot about it. there is a cheap book that is very informative called, " why am i always so tired, " by ann louise gittleman. i'd check it out. your copper toxicity probably isn't going up because you haven't produced enough energy for it to come out of deep tissues. my copper was in normal range, but based on symptoms i've had my whole life and other mineral ratios, the lab could tell it was what they called " hidden " copper. so as energy is produced, copper will start to come out of tissues and go up on the hair test. read this very brief article about someone that was copper toxic. it's a case history basically. http://www.dreddyclinic.com/migraine_headaches_and_copper_toxicity.ht m shawn > > Thanks for the answer. Guest guest
I believe I'm dealing with high copper also. I've had very high copper on hair tests (only for it to show up normal a couple of years later?) And pyroluria which is when your body leeches out zinc/b6. And I have a reaction to gluten (celiac?) Plus mercury maybe??? Still trying to figure everything out. Anyway, giving up gluten has been very helpful. Also, b6 is very helpful. It definitely helps me sleep better and I wake up actually feeling a little refreshed rather than stressed out and exhausted like usual. " why am I so tired? " is an excellent book. If you have high copper, you have to adjust your diet as well eliminating stimulants (coffee, sugar, etc). Sleep is important - managing stress is important. If you have digestive issues, you may not be absorbing zinc very well. Kirkman's has a liquid zinc that is probably easier to asborb. But I would have to say B6,B6,B6. It's supposed to get rid of excess copper and it also has a calming effect. May have to go with the p5p form as it is more absorbable. Guest guest
Hello Joni. I have this too I believe. You very likely have adrenal fatigue. Because of adrenal fatigue, your body does not make enough ceruloplasmin. So the copper is not used correctly and therefore the copper builds up in tissues and organs. Also because there is so much copper, the body cannot raise its zinc levels. Low zinc=low pyridoxal phosphate. Zinc is very important for digestion. When you are low in zinc, the body is too acidic. Basically don't eat nuts, seeds, chocalate and other high copper foods. No stimulants like caffeine. You can drink some cafeine and theine free coffee/tea. You should start meditation, or find another way to calm your body. Avoid stress at all cost. Try to be happy. Learn what is causing the stress. Stress is very bad !!! Take zinc, magnesium, b6, pyridoxal phosphate, b complex, small dose vitamin c. molybdenum. Pregnenolone can be very helpful. If you have no digestion problems, drink licorice tea 2-3 times a day. Licorice helps your body recycle cortisol. As long as the adrenal fatigue is not gone, the copper problem will always be there. The advises I give here are for copper toxicity caused by adrenal fatigue and not for mercury toxicity. Hope this helps you. Good luck
