Guest guest
How about Chilston Park, Lenham, near Maidstone, but not too far from Canterbury or Ashford (with its designer factory centre)? BTW, Chilston Park was where a Yates was first spotted with Hutchence..... but it *is* lovely. Alison DH and I have decided that as my sister has kindly offered to look after sprogs next weekend and suddenly DH is not working over the weekend we want to go away somewhere. What we want is a hotel (4 star - ish) possibly country house type thing - but not too far from a nice town for shopping, restaurants etc. and not too far from home (can't go until Saturday morning as I'm out with friends on Friday evening, and we have to be back Monday

Guest guest
They both look great! Tylney Hall has the advantage of being very close so we won't have to sit in the car for too long on a hot summer's day (!!!! Some chance!). Will get DH to sort out bookings soon. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ Caroline Pearce wrote: > > > What we want is a hotel (4 star - ish) possibly country house > type > > thing - but not too far from a nice town for shopping, > restaurants etc. > How about Tylney Hall in Hook or Ashdown Park Hotel in > Ashdown Forest? My mum really loves Tylney Hall - she has been 3 times - and she is pretty hard to please. We all stayed - all 20 of the immediate family- at Ashdown Park last year for a weekend and it is serious luxury. Caroline
Guest guest
Manor House hotel in Castle Combe (near delicious Bath) is where we had our wedding reception and it's very nice... Definitely comes into country house category and has odd little bits of stonework from architecture in one part of the garden... Caro Can dig out phone number if interested
