I have just picked up some info today that states that monitoring on

admission to hospital does not benefit the neonatal outcome in low

risk women and can actually increase the likelihood of continual

monitoring, intervention and operative delivery,

(c/section/ventous/forceps/epiesiotomy)

So now we have the real right to refuse monitoring on admission to

hospital and avoid lying on our backs, (unless of course you know that

you need monitoring) generally speaking it is not necessary!!!!! HTH.
