I'm on 50mg PTU a day. I split it in two, because 25 mg every 12

hours works okay so far, and cutting it in 3 would be painful. I

take it midnight and midday (my brain can remember that mostly).

25mg pills - we'd be so lucky!

I have a pill cutter and cut 50 mg pills in half down the score

already in the pills. Pill cutters are really cheap, just

plastic with a blaze mounted, and some guide rails to line the

pills up with - very simple, but a bit fiddly.

For me two days off would be a potential problem, but I think

most people get hyper more slowly than I do when the medication

stops, so I think stopping two days and going to 50mg is not

unreasonable. If you start sweating buckets probably best to

start the PTU again and go see a doctor if it doesn't stop

sharpish.

Hope you get a stable maintenance dose soon, I was feeling

pretty fed up when I was at your levels, but it got better when

the thyroid hormone levels crept back to " normal " , and my TSH

vanished again for a few months.
