Guest guest
Don't worry, - if truth be told I expect most of us can think of accents that make our toes curl (I know I can!) and if there is anyone IN THE WORLD who is truly without a gramme of " prejudice " , I'd be very surprised indeed. Come on, is there anyone on this list who can honestly say that they have NEVER had to struggle to overcome an initial irrational bad impression of someone? Anneliese who still can't avoid an instant abreaction to a particular accent all because of one particular person 18 years ago! Re: Accents/ (was Big Brother) Wish I'd kept my mouth shut now - after all someone might not like MY accent!!!! > I took your comment to mean that you discriminate against people with Welsh > accents. Guest guest
I agree Anneliese ;o) personally I have a problem with German people as I grew up in Denmark and was basically taught to hate them (because of what they did to Denmark during the 2nd world war) I have since met several German people who where perfectly nice but I still struggle to begin with.. And come on who on this list does not see German and think sunloungers and towels??? that is prejudice and I might add English prejudice I had never heard of it until I came to England ..... Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already.

Guest guest
Btw Lonnie, in case you were wondering, I'm not (very) German! But I'm not telling anyone what my instant dislike accent is! Anneliese whose name is German because she was named after an opera singer although she had a German um great great grandfather I think...
