Guest guest
Thank you Bruce - I was hoping you would respond. I did have pulmo tests and was below the scale. Yes, I am super excited to have more evidence of my diagnosis. The CAT Scan scheduled for the 28th should tell me more. I understand it is going to be a high resolution scan - Hope so anyway! Thanks, Ken Subject: Re: I have questionsTo: Breathe-Support Date: Friday, April 24, 2009, 8:53 PM KenI read your statement of your ILD diagnosed a year ago from a chestxray. I cannot imagine any pulmonologist stopping at that point andmaking a firm diagnosis without immediately proceeding with a highresolution CT. Please please please get to a medical center with ILDexpertise and get a full complete diagnosis of all your conditions.>> Good morning!>> I have several questions maybe someone could give some insight on.>> I had a treadmill stress test yesterday and during the exam I was toldI have Atrial Fibrillation and was lacking oxygen to a muscle in myheart. After the test I was drawn a picture showing what was going on. The cardiologist wonders if I have a partially closed artery but doubtedit because my cholesterol is extremely low. They are sending me for anuclear scan of the heart. I said I wondered if the lack of oxygen isdue to my ILD but he didn't say much. I am scheduled for a CAT Scan ofthe lungs on the 28th. I am very excited about that since my ILD wasdiagnosed about a year ago from a chest x-ray. I am having some chestand back discomfort. My questions I guess are more that I would likeyour thinking on this. I would be humbly grateful for your comments!!! Thanks, Ken R..> PS Someday I'll know enough to return the favor>
Guest guest
Ken There is no nice way of saying this though. You don't continue with a pulmonologist who would wait a year for a CT Scan. Find good medical treatment. With your current pulmonologist, you'll never get all the answers you need if his history is any indication. > > > > Good morning! > > > > I have several questions maybe someone could give some insight on. > > > > I had a treadmill stress test yesterday and during the exam I was told > I have Atrial Fibrillation and was lacking oxygen to a muscle in my > heart. Guest guest
Ken I've been on oxygen since the day I was diagnosed. I have UIP and I'm on anywhere from 2 lpm to 5 lpm depending on what I'm doing. I'm actually doing quite well considering. I traveled more last year for pleasure than anytime of my life. My slogan is " have oxygen will travel. " I just moved so been busy the last month but anticipate doing a lot of things, especially in June. I'm living life as full as possible and treating each year like it's my last, because it may be. However, I wish I'd always lived my life like that. For my condition or many conditions, my life is pretty great. > > > > > > Good morning! > > > > > > I have several questions maybe someone could give some insight on. > > > > > > I had a treadmill stress test yesterday and during the exam I was > told > > I have Atrial Fibrillation and was lacking oxygen to a muscle in my > > heart. Guest guest
Bruce, You are right - We need to live each day like it is our last. Now and then I tell my wife that when one of us is gone we would give anything for one more day - Let's make this that day! Ken R.
