Guest guest
<<<HI I was wondering, do most hospitals and birthing centers have the oral Vit K? Can you insist that they give it to your baby? Can they refuse? What can be done to ensure that your baby gets the oral Vit K? (If that is what a Mom chooses) Thanks Kerin>>> Hey, Sorry this is a bit late, but, this list sends so much email that its hard for me to keep up... I delivered Calista in a hospital (not what I wanted... wanted a homebirth...anyways...) and I refused the vitamin K shot for her and I just had to sign something for it... She never had any yellow in her skintone at anytime.... Alison
Guest guest
Dear , In answer to your questions about your fiance refusing the anthrax poison. My grandson Lucas refused, was reduced in rank, fined, (he didn't have to write the essay, after all he and others like your fiance are the living symbols of courage, honor and commitment.) The courage to refuse an unproven drug for what it is being used for. Honor is standing up for what you believe in and commitment to doing the right thing for him. What he needs is your total and unfailing support. If he has a mother or father or family have them write to their Congressman. It doesn't do any harm and the Navy has to answer every inquiry from family. They will usually lie about the punishment or make it sound like the person is a wimp, trouble maker, rebel, etc. but still they have to reply. A fly in their ointment. Anyway, Lucas has been out of the Navy for six months now. The other day his name was announced aboard his previous SHIP that he was due to take the poison. He misses his friends but still has no regrets for not taking the vaccine. Our governtment is so full of lies and deceit they don't know where one ends and the other begins. The truth will come out but not in time to save the careers of the bravest of the military. The ones who have chosen the HONORABLE , COURAGEOUS and path of COMMITTMENT. Prayers and thoughts your way. Guest guest
Is there anyone who generally avoids caffeine but has found that green tea is okay (I.e. doesn't lead to the panic and mood swings Me! I am just fine with it. love Green Tea? What about caffeine? I have been one to avoid caffeine but after hearing the many benefits of green tea, I am tempted to try it. Is there anyone who generally avoids caffeine but has found that green tea is okay (i.e. doesn't lead to the panic and mood swings that can come with diet soda and coffee consumption). I have heard of decaf brands but I know that with decaffeination, alot of the benefits are lost or reduced.

I really enjoy the taste and it is MUCH more mild than the alkaloids and caffeine in coffee. I am finding though that I really do best without any caffeine at all. I have not yet tried the decaf. version of the green teas, but I have heard also that they are reduced in their " goodies " for us. I have found that I do get the mood swings from green tea though not the panic as much. Also, my couple of " trouble spots " with neck/back muscle soreness/back spasms come back after I've been drinking green tea with caffeine a cup, two or three a day for a couple of weeks. Again, not as severly as when I used to drink coffee, but they are there none the less. These are settling down again now that I haven't had any caffeine for a few days. Hope this helps even though it's a bit late (catching up on my e-mail from being gone a while...) Lynn (in Idaho)
Guest guest
Yes, I noticed with my 10 year old " autistic-like " , that she has to know always what comes next, what is our plan for today, etc. Many years ago we started with the plans ,to avoid suprises and so she would know what comes next, to curb her anxietes and fear of anknown. But, today I feel it backfired on us/her becauser it became an obssesion for her, and I feel that as of now is doing more damage then helping her. So, unless I really , really have need for her to cooperate on a certain visits, I would just tell her, that there is no plan, it is a suprise, we will see together what comes next. It is working, thou she still gets upset, but I feel that if my goal is that she will one day be part the of 'normal' world, she has to learn how to deal with it. Guest guest
Tylenol is bad for your liver. I take nothing but aspirin for headaches and use stuff like Icy hot for muscle pain. If you are tired try taking B12, but by all means get to a doc and see where you stand. We are all here for you. Guest guest
Val, Sorry to hear about your dh:( Hope he is better soon. Most hospitals have fitness cernters...so ask about it--you might be able to get a workout while he rests or has tests. Getting a small amount of exercise will help you with stress. Even a good 10 minute walk will help. Stacey > Stacey and carolyn > > Thank you.
