Has to be better than the Booked C/s at the Portland anyway.. Will have a nosy when I'm next in the newsagents - otherwise my very posh SIL will probably have a copy at some point. Guest guest
OK, I've now read it - they were talking about the Hospital of St. & (in NW8 and costing around £4k for ante and postnatal care, delivery, obs and midwife support, yoga and a 3 night stay) - not as plushy as the Portland, but becoming more popular because it is keen on complementary labour aids (I quote) and Yehudi Gordon, the senior consultant, favours non-intervention if at all possible. Sadie Frost compared her birth experience here and in the US and said that though the birth in the US had superb care it was much more interventionist and (albeit it was a " problem " birth -quite a few weeks early) she was unhappy with being drugged and out of control. HOWEVER, she said in the US she was left in the room by midwives and only chekced intermittently (that's quite unusual in the US I thought? Far more a UK practice?) A very uninformative article, apart from the list of pampering treatments for the pregnant and recommended sonographer, midwife, counsellor, yoga teacher and homeopath. Still it was an excuse to look at the adverts.... Anneliese the covetous who really fancied a Bill Amberg babycarrier.... Re: " natural " childbirth... > ...is now trendy.
