That doesn't seem so terribly stupid to me. I only know Methimazole

dosing but believe that it's roughly the equivalent of one-tenth of PTU,

i.e. a 50 mg. dose change of PTU equals a 5 mg. of MMI. My endo (ex #2)

changed me in 10 mg. increments and I still went into remission.

BUT, I think there are two important factors here: #1, I'm overweight so

needed higher doses and #2, even when slimmer am not so sensitive and

need higher potencies of medications.. YOU, on the other hand may be slim

and/or more sensitive to medication, in which case even 50 mg. is too

drastic a change for you and you should be working in 25 mg. increments,

maybe even ultimately as you're ready to wean off PTU 12.5. I think that

at this point you have enough empirical evidence to come to appropriate

conclusions.

The good news is that you can think clearly now. When I was hyper I

wasn't capable of critical thinking and had a total loss of perspective.

You caught this in time and should be just fine.

Thanks Fay,

I'm still on 50mgs I heard it took 6 days to see a difference so

maybe the 50mgs is fine for me I slept good last night so I will stay

at this dose for now.
