'old' days before it became accredited. It has been in varying

degrees; hard work, fascinating, demanding, sometimes frustrating,

always rewarding. I'd recommend anyone who was thinking about

training to talk to local teachers & trainees and seriously think

about it, I am sure , Barbara, Ruthie et al would agree with me.

I also trained in the early 90's, and jumped into the ANT training

right after qualifying as a BFC. If you like the idea of leading

classes and think you can present birth in a warm hearted positive and

yet realistic way, go for it. The training *is* hard but very

worthwhile.

Yes, I have never regretted it!

Before committing to anything - why not offer your services as class

supporter to a local NCT A/N class, this will give you a 'feel' for what

is involved.

Every student has a tutor, and there are tutorials where the group gets

together once a month or so. You could make prelim enquiries (phone URU,

ask fo rTeachers Panel office) to see where/when tutorials are held,

and what places are available - because some tutorial groups are full,

but when someone qualifies, there will be a space. Also you could start

getting your head around which days tutorials are on, what about

childcare, etc...

I have found ANTs, tutors, and everyone involved in my training to be

incredibly positive and helpful - because they want you too succeed !

Happy to chat off list if you wish! :-))
