Guest guest
I have had that book for a year: the enzyme cure. I would like to hear Devin's opinion of the article too. I have mixed feelings on the book though (bought it through amazon.com). One one level it is okay, but in every section they tell how you can solve the problem by buying one or more of the special enzyme formulation. The don't talk about the specific enzymes, just the formulations, which detracts a bit from the message. For example, for 'catherine' with weight and thyroid problems, the recommendation is to take: Thera-zyme PAN Thera-zyme Lvr Thera-zyme Opt Thera-zyme TRMA and Thera-zyme IrB plus a handful of other supplements. So it tells you more about each condition and then which combination of 3-6 proprietary products to buy for it, more like a sales book for enzymes then about enzymes. The number of possible Thera-zyme products is up to 34. It is one of the enzyme books I use the least. .
Guest guest
Yes, I know of Lee. Pure carbohydrate meals can increase the availability of tryptophan, which is the precursor to serotonin, but this is usually blocked when dietary protein is available, so this is an uncommon response. Nevertheless, there is some indication that carbs are involved with mood swings (may explain the depression experienced when on diets). The problem may lie more with inappropriate responses to blood sugar, i.e. pre-diabetes, rather than solely with diet. An interesting study sponsored by National Enzyme and directed by me at Bastyr University indicated that when healthy people were on an enzyme supplement high in carbohydrase enzymes, there was a lower rise in blood sugar and blood insulin levels following a meal compared to when the same group did not take enzymes. The result did not quite reach significance, but the trend was definitely there. > Devin, could you comment on the article from the link below - and do Houston > enzymes have anything in them to help digest sugars or can you recommend an > enzyme for doing this please > Cheers H maryhe@x... > > Article: The effect of enzymes on mental health. > > > > Hi all.
