Guest guest
I bought Archie up as a vegetarian, and this was all going well until i took him to an open day at the local firestation. Fireman: Would you like to try my helmet on? Archie: No thankyou, I'm a vegetarian At the age of 5 or so he decided he wanted to try meat...I explained that it was a dead animal, and he said, matter of factly, 'yes, i think you should eat animals, especially chickens as they are ugly.' At the grand old age of 7 he now demands rare steak in restaurants (he loved the red sauce (ie blood) ) and when I'm picking herbs in the garden mocks me, saying...I can hear it scream!!! I was a veggie for about 10 years, but the bacon and salami cravings got too much in the end...I still don't like cooking and touching raw meat though. As for health, i don't think veggies are necessarily any healthier...most of my friends live on quorn and mc Cartney stuff and gallons of cheese! :-) Emma

Probably fair enough if you mean the prepared foods (burgers, sausages, tikka masala etc) but not for the plain pieces or fillets. > and mc Cartney stuff and gallons of cheese! :-) I think the research evidence is that vegetarians are, statistically, healthier - however, there hasn't been time for enough of those of us who live on the aforementioned items to pop our clogs of anything (I am enrolled as a subject in a Europe wide study, provided a fair bit of data so far, but hoping not to provide that last bit for a while!) -- jennifer@...
