(though you cannot know for sure what is in the bridge). However, you will HAVE TO check under the bridge to see if there is amalgam there (as there usually is). That often means the crown gets damaged and you'll need a new one, in which case you can choose a metal free option like Diamond Crown and feel secure about the crown. It must > be lifted to make sure. > DeanSA > Dean, Thanks for the info. It is actually a 3 unit crown or (land Bridge) if your familiar with that terminology. I remember when it was installed, the dentist grinded down 2 outside teeth as a base to carry the 3 unit (3 tooth) bridge so Im sure there are no amalgams below, the only question is what material is used within the bridge itself. I am planning to call the Dentist today for that info., it has only been 7 yrs. so maybe he will be able to tell me with some degreee of certainty. I did read one of Andy's posts about stainless steel potentially being problematic as opposed to aluminum when used in bridges. Any insight on that?
