Sandy,

I believe I am the one who suggested Valerian. I did take it while on PTU.

Usually if I took what the dosage was on the bottle they would stop itching

and gradually go away. Depending on the size of the hives sometimes it took

a few hours for them to be completely gone, but the itch was. Is it safe

with PTU, I couldn't say. I have " The Green Pharmacy " by A. Duke,

Ph.D. he also suggests camomile which contains antihistamine compounds. He

also suggests camomile oil a drop or two on the hives and stinging nettle

which Weil, M.D. suggests in my book. My girlfriend is the expert in

herbs, so I always ask her first. Because Benadryl makes my heart rate go

up, when I've had to take it a few times my doctor suggest 1/2 the dosage

amount, half as many times a day as suggested on the bottle.

Hope you find relief soon. I know that hives aren't fun.

Debbie R.
