Thanks . That is good to know. This is another new disease for me and sometimes I actually wonder if it is not worse to do Net research!! Just kidding. I am WAY too curious for that!! I agree, though the UIP will probably get me first unless this new cancer thing does. Anyhoo, right now I am just trying to enjoy today. Have been kinda tired today more than usual for some reason, usually that is a sign I am getting sick again. Sure hope not!! My doc in Birmingham wants me to go to rheumatologist as soon as I get this cancer thing dealt with, so who knows what other autoimmune diseases I could even have. Wouldn't surprise me at all. I did learn from this group, though, that most people who have PF of some form develop some form or other of autoimmune disease or connective tissue disease, so I am prepared for it as best I can be I guess. Hearing from someone else

going through what you are going through yourself is why I love this group. Thank you so much for the helpful info. Hope you have a great night!! Hi Caro I was Dx with PM in 98. Been on Prednisone every day since, on 20 mg now but my CK has been normal for two years with no flares. 138 last week. Get it checked every month. Was 3000+ back in 98. If you can stay away from flares it should progress very slowly. My head doe NOT bob. My RA Doc has me rise from a chair without using my arms to check the strenght in my legs. Can still do it. I do have a power chair for giong out and about, that is from sever SOB not my PM I really don't pay attention to my PM, the UIP will get me way before the PM P PM (Polymositis) 12/98, UIP 8/00, o2 24/7 9 LPM 8/04, PH 3/06, ILL yo 60REMEMBER : All of you on Prednisone'stressed' spelled

Hi Sher,

I have been trying to find the time and the energy. Just flat out POOPED!! I went and followed up with OB-GYNE/ONCO about the biopsy results. He said his biopsy showed dysplasia, so he wants to do a laser procedure to remove the cancer cells from where my cervix was. He said I could do it now or wait 6 months and see if it gets worse. I told him I was really more concerned about the ovary, so he said since I go back on April 28 for a repeat ultrasound, we can just decide then and if I have to have the ovaries removed, I can have both surgeries done at the same time. Fine with me, I will only have to miss work for 1 surgery instead of 2.

Got call from Dr. deAndrade about my lab results and he said my CK and aldolase are very elevated meaning I definitely have muscle breakdown and this is why I am having so many problems climbing the stairs. I told him I had started walking with my new little dog and I have gotten up to 3 miles a day (takes me forever, but, hey -- ). He said they just want me to do whatever I feel like I am able to do.

I read up on an article about polymyositis and it said that some people have problems holding up their neck even and it mostly affects the muscles closest to the trunk, like the hips, thighs, legs, and lower back. I called Will and Summer both and told them if I get to the point ever where you have to wheel me around with my head flopping all over the place, you had better let me go on and die, overdose me or something!! GEEZ!!

And, oh yeah, my car died AGAIN!!

How r u doing Mama Sher and everyone else? I hope you all have a great weekend coming up. Weather is great here. Has been sunny and in the mid to high 80s all week, but storming and raining at night. Hey, I can deal with that. Can still get out during the day!! I LOVE SPRINGTIME!! !
