Guest guest
Well, I'm a huge fan of " Mummy Laid an Egg " - DD1 was, too - I think I read it with her when she was 6? 7? - no, 6 as it was before came along! I figured it was a nice way to tell her and what she didn't understand would go over her head, anyway, but it was nice to put the seeds of information in so gently. However I could have killed DH when he took the boys to the loo in a restaurant in Portsmouth and DS1 came back and said Daddy told us to ask you what condoms are! The waiter was just about to take our order and he went off saying I'll come back in a couple of minutes give you chance to sort yourselves out! I explained what they were and have never been asked again, and that must have been when DS1 was about 3 or 4. I think if you explain it plainly as it comes up then it is not such a big thing. We did read a book which I got from the library when I was pregnant with DS3 and it was quite explicit but made especially for young children and DS1 & 2 aged 3 & 5 sat and had a good listen. In your position I might explain that sex is a slang word that " nice " people don't use and really they mean making love which is what mummy and daddy do in bed when they are having a special cuddle............What he has seen others doing it kissing which is totally different. HTH probably not!! Trisha SAHM to 3 boys

Not sure my back could take it either. I'll just stick to bed! Trisha SAHM to 3 boys and no more planned!

I say imagine because I have never looked at one. Trisha SAHM to 3 boys

We can barely even manage the bedroom anymore since it involves throwing out Yeshaya and half a dozen friends! The trouble is, he always *knows*. Euphemistically called " Mummy and Daddy are having some time together " he knows exactly what it means and will say something like : " But it's not Thursday " . That made us realise how set in our ways we'd become! Well at our advanced age, and with DH's prostate problems, our time together has become less frequent so we usually manage to find a time when Yeshaya is out! He probably thinks we never do it any more! :-)) Ruthie
