Ruthie,

I don't agree. People don't have to read them. Your openness and

honesty is what is so appealing about your posts. I probably read

about a third of the postings on this list but always yours. It is a

reminder though, that we really *don't* know who is listening nor very

much at all about each other!

Thanks phine and Lorraine too, and some other emailers who

contacted me offlist. I am still feeling pretty shell shocked after

yesterday. After the posting from Lucy, Yeshaya was being his normal

teenager self, talking on his mobile when he said he was working,

(well maybe a bit worse than usual due to the fact that he'd visited

DS2, the estranged one, that afternoon, and I think he screwed with

his head, tried to indoctrinate his younger brother with anti-parental

feelings or something because he came home really aggressive and used

big-bro expressions he didn't usually use) ...

Anyway I was so upset by Lucy's post that I let fly at Yeshaya in a

way I wouldn't usually have done which was 100000000% the wrong thing

to do when he'd just had a dose of big-bro propaganda. It all

escalated into a row, and DH got involved, and the whole thing was

horrid.

Interestingly enough, after the row, Yeshaya went over the road to

rant to his mate Zevi about what awful parents he has, and Zevi said

: " what you talking about? You have the best parents in the whole

world! "

The fact that Yeshaya actually repeated this to me later, shows he

really is an OK kid deep down :-))

Ruthie,

I have four children. DS1 is 13, DS2 is 11 and hormonal, DS3 is 8 and

stroppy, DD is2.

I love to read about your children. Not only am I coping with a

toddler when all my local friends have moved on from the baby years

and I'm feeling really left behind and isolated. But I'm also

handling first girlfriend (I'm trying not to think of the phone

bill), first job (paper round), and the tantrums and rows. DS1 is not

only a teenager, but also dyslexic so you can imagine how popular

studying is with him.

Your posts are as relevant to my experience of parenting as those on

fabric nappies, vacinations, fussy eaters, schools and pre-schools.

Thank you.
