I do use eucalyptus oil on my pillow to help me sleep (DS too) or tea-tree oil is also a good inhalant if you are blocked up. My Mum always swears by something called Gee's Linctus which isn't too chemical I don't think. I would ask a pharmacist (sp?) as they are usually very helpful. Guest guest
Oh - you poor thing. Apart from Paracetamol I don't think there are many drugs you can take. In my last 2 pregnancies I have had bad bouts of 'flu and paracetamol was all I could have - no lemsips or anything with decongestants in, although I did have hot lemon and honey as it is soothing if you have a bad throat too. YOu could try some Olbas oil on you pillow to unblock a stuffy nose, or some eucalyptus radiata in your bath. Hope you feel better soon. http://www.foxstitch.co.uk/ Caroline Pearce wrote: > Help! > I have the most stinking cold - blocked ears, headache, rnny > nose and continuous sneezing (which usually gets a 'oy mum' > boff from the bump!!) Guest guest
Caroline not sure if this will help you as your basic chemist probably do not have nay homeopathic remedies but.. Early stages Aconite 30c thin watery burning discharge Asenicum 30c Thick bland profuse discharge Pulsatilla 30c with flu like aching Gelsenium 30c slow to go Silica 30c... but don't use theese and them olbas oil they tend to cancel each other out ;o).. (personally I find that a big bar of chocolate and a hot drink makes me feel better - though it does nothing for my colds ;o) ) Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama & expecting a Christmas delivery... My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you start. So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake. I feel better already. Seem to remember it being one that those with heroin related problems would try and obtain!! Jenni (& Gethyn) 17yrs, Mari 3yrs (H/B), Babi Bach exp.09/2001 = 36wks+ " If you don't know your options - you don't have any "

It " isn't too chemical " to the extent that the pharmacist at my local Tescos refused most rudely to sell me another bottle of it as he thought I had developed a drug habit on it. It contains opiates and druggies do get hooked on it. Ruthie
Guest guest
> druggies do get hooked on it. Oh dear ... I think people here know by now that I can be a bit of a stickler for politically correct language ... don't want to cause any more friction than there is at the moment ... I did think of ignoring it but I do find such language offensive. I just can't stand back (one of my weaknesses I guess). Actually feel nervous about posting this, don't know whether it should be on or off list ... don't want to start any debates/hurt anyone just needed to say. I didn't think this language was offensive, but I can see that it might be. But it is well known that certain cough mixtures become attractive for certain people. As it happens I find Gee's Linctus the best for my coughs, but I have problems getting hold of it as I am looked at askance by the pharmacists.
