Guest guest
, I seemed to hold my own without much disruption from symptoms on DMSA, working slowly up to 50 mg when I started last year. When I added ALA, symptoms became very pronounced, and that's when I decided to get crowns removed to be on the safe side. At least in my case, the hidden amalgam didn't seem to create chelation problems until ALA was introduced. It's an insidious thing. When people say to get everything redone, including crowns, first, it's probably the best advice. Sadly, it's also terribly expensive. Guest guest
No no no , forget about being a tough guy. You're in this for the long haul, so you've got to be comfortable. Many of us have found if the dose is just right, we feel better on round, not worse. Which would you rather do - chelate 2 years being miserable all the time, or 2.5 years feeling great? Of course, in real life it's not that black and white, but you get my drift. Smaller, easily-tolerable doses are the way to go. No toughing it out! Dean Problems with 25mg of DMSA Hi, After some days feeling wonderfully well with rounds of 12.5mg of DMSA/3h, y increased the dose to 25mg/3h. I am on the sixth round and at the limit of the side effects I can resist or afford. I wonder to what extent I should be a tough guy (I am not!) and continue with 25mg. Some hours of the day are really difficult (headache, photofobia, very tired, coldness...) but at some other moments (mainly after taking supplements) I feel pretty well. I have some concern about the possibility of some remaining amalgam at root canals or elsewhere. What is the difference between normal side effects increasing the dose and the sickness coming from mercury release from hidden amalgam? I look at these side effects as a confirmation of toxicity. I know this is a long path and I would be happy if the only problem is to reduce the dose to something between 12.5mg and 25mg of DMSA. Guest guest
- This is the way Andy puts it: Side effects are linear in the dose, but amount of mercury chelated goes like, roughly, the square root. Basically, that means that if you double the dose, you double the side effects, but only increase amount of mercury removed by sqrt(2) ~ 1.4, ie 40%. So, while I push myself to the limits of my abilities, I keep two things in mind. One, the rate of improvement is not going to be as dramatic as my symptoms reflect and two, that I can't allow myself to become any more tired out than I am able to recover from during the down time between rounds. If I get too tired, then there is a slow down-hill slide always signaled by the fact that I start missing doses, find myself lying on the couch and staring at the wall, and become unable to rouse myself to go to bed even though I'm doing little more than just sitting in a stupor. :-/ Still, I'm determined to get well, so I'm willing to put up with as much as I can. Hello , I have noticed on the 3rd or 4th round after increasing my ALA dose that it sometimes gets very difficult. My symptoms are mostly adrenal. It has happened at least twice and I have had to back down because I was feeling miserable. The weird thing is, I felt I was doing great on the first couple rounds at the higher dose, and doing well enough that I did longer than usual rounds.
