.

I moved to 2 1/2 hours for a while and it made a big difference. I was

able to do 3 hours at night, 2 1/2 during the day. For that, I

downloaded a programmable alarm for my computer that allowed me to

easily switch between the two schedules. (I used

http://www.sinnercomputing.com/GigAlarm.htm).

You may find waking up every 2 hours difficult. You won't get _any_ REM

sleep that way.

----------Grreat! I'm glad this worked for you. It takes some experimenting

to find the right dose and interval, because everyone is

different.-----------Jackie

I assume this is because I am a fast oxidizer(which I have known from

dieting experiments).

I just did my first round of 50mg DMPS every six hours and 12.5mg ALA

every 3 hours. And I had some unpleasant emotional side effects from

the ALA. I was figuring that if I am a fast oxidizer and do better

taking DMPS 2 hours shorter than normal intervals that I would do

better taking ALA at even shorter intervals.

Perhaps ALA every 2 hours? This would work better for me timetracking

wise than anything between 2 and 3. It's really not too much trouble

during the day and not too much more trouble at night than every 3 hours.

It would just be 12,2,4,6,8,10,12,2,4,6,8,10(or every even hour) for

ALA and 12,6,12,6 for DMPS

I figure it will be worth it if it makes chelation more tolerable.

What are your thoughts?

----------Again, I think it's going to take some experimentation on your part.

To me, I think there is actually three possibilities here. One, it just may be

too soon for you to add in ALA, and hence the side effects. Two, the amount of

ALA might be too high for you for starting out with, and you might feel better

on a lower dose, maybe try 6mg next time. And third, it may be that you need

more frequent dosing of the ALA also, like you mention above. Although, I don't

think that's always the case, because somebody recently reported that they did

better on 3 hour dosing with DMSA as compared to 4 hour, and when they added in

ALA, they did fine on 3 hour dosing with it. But others do report doing better

on more frequent dosing of ALA, and I think you are just going to have to

experiment with it. If you try 12.5mg of ALA every 2 hours and still have too

many symptoms, then I would suggest either waiting longer to use it, or try

lowering the dose.-----------Jackie

I take ALA every 2 hours, day and night. This is another thing

that has helped me, along with supportive supplements as mentioned

in my response to your other post.

Believe it or not, I actually feel a lot calmer and sleep better

on rounds when I dose 2 hourly.

You may want to think about your dose before trying 2 hour dosing.

If you take 12.5 mg every 2 hours instead of every 3 hours, it is

a 50% higher dose per day, potentially pulling more metals per day,

causing more stress on your body. Something to think about.

Another interval you can use is DMPS every 4:48 and ALA every 2:24.

Easy if you have a repeating timer.

It makes a big difference for me. We're all different, so all you

can do is give it a try and see.
