Guest guest
Sorry you're having such a battle but so pleased you're getting the continued antibiotics until you're well. It's being hit hard as it needs to be with us. I had a very interesting conversation with some emergency room personnel last night that make me quite concerned if I went to that particular hospital that they would recognize what might be minor in someone else is major for all of us. As to losing the sense of taste. I've found mine altered by many medications. Many get thrush mouth from Levaquin (I don't). So these definitely can effect taste. Keep an eye on your mouth and tongue to be sure nothing is developing there that needs to be acknowledged. > > *Hello all*....I am still battling themiserable bronchitis and now on > anti-biotic # 3. > I Had Levaquin in the hospital and Zithromyicin there and at > home....after 2 weeks..a bit better but > not back to the " normal " ...still coughing rather deeply and still sort > of " gunky'...now I'm on Augmentin > for 10 more glorious days!!! Guest guest
This is no UP date Sista.. THIS is a DOWN date....no good I say.....how mean to have the Steroid Hunger Pangs WITHOUT your tastebuds & honker working properly! Maybe it'll help keep you in line tho'...... My sense of smell comes n' goes & mostly is GONE (I now have a 'remembered' database in my brain of what 'NICE" smells, smell like... don't want to remember the Yukky ones!) Actually I'm so used to it now that getting my smell back can be off-putting! Everything is too strong! I reckon that's why I put so much sugar & salt into my food.... tastebuds go hand in hand with smell.. if one is 'off' so is the t'other! Texture is my number 1 attraction to food... crunchy is tops for me! Oh & the SIGHT of food is really important too.... it HAS to LOOK attractive on a plate & on the Table! Colour is a huge part of that! Am I talking about FOOD.. EATING... it must be yet another cool, wet day here..... STOP ! NOW! Cheers... do get better SOON Lioness of Zioness..... how is your Jungle 'Fever' goin'.... is Mike still hiding??????????????????? Guest guest
I have surprised myself and lost about 10 pounds in the last 2 months. Do hunger pangs from our friendly steroids ease up for awhile then come back?? Have been sick last 2 weeks, under the weather. Really have not been hungry, however, have forced myself to eat and drink fluids. Then, today I can not get full!! I am famished, and have annoying hunger pangs. I eat and 10 minutes later I could eat again. Help! Suggestions appreciated. Guest guest
Pink You've struck upon something I think worth emphasizing. I think with the prescription of Prednisone should come the prescription for a nutritionist specializing in diabetes. We know both weight and diabetes are major risks from it and strong preventive attempts might help, as impossible as it seems to maintain while on it. There are other meds with similar issues. For instance, Zyprexa which is used for mental illnesses and sleep problems creates extreme carbohydrate cravings in many people. It just seems a greater attempt by the medical profession to help the patient attack the typical side effects head-on would be appropriate. ly, even the healthiest of us could generally benefit from the moderate carbohydrate limitation you're talking about. 150 grams is actually a reasonable amount and affords a fairly broad range of food choices. The more extreme diets allow far less (<20). > > > > > > *Hello all*....I am still battling themiserable > > bronchitis and now on > > > anti-biotic # 3. > > > I Had Levaquin in the hospital and Zithromyicin there > > and at > > > home....after 2 weeks..a bit better but > > > not back to the " normal " ...still coughing > > rather deeply and still > > sort > > > of " gunky'...now I'm on Augmentin > > > for 10 more glorious days!!!
