I hope you have improved and now you are better! ----------I still have a long ways to go, because I have had alot of bumps along the way that have kept me from chelating and set me back. But overall, yes I have improved, and I know chelation is the key to me getting better.---------Jackie Of course I would rather prefer to be OK, but since my problems have come with me for so many years, I feel very fortunate for having found its very likely cause. It is great to know it is a problem that can be solved! ---- ----------Yes, that's what Andy says too, that at least it is something you can do something about, and should improve, once you find out what it is. I believe so many never figure out that they have a heavy metal problem.--------Jackie > > Your hair test says you have both a mercury problem and an arsenic > problem. Digestive aides have helped me. But, your diet does sound very good, but you still may be low in stomach acid. When we see mostly all low minerals on a hair test, this is a general statement that we make. Even taking Vit C in the ascorbic acid form with meals, will increase acid for digestion.---------Jackie Maybe I should have added that I follow a macrobiotic diet (three years from now), which excludes meat, dairy products and sweet things. Is is based on brown rice and other whole cereals, beans, vegetables, some fish and complements such as seaweed, miso or gomasio. This macrobiotic diet helped me a lot, but obviously it is not enough and the reason is obvious. ----- ----------If the diet is working for you then stick with it. I personally need alot of protein and limit carbs.---------Jackie > > In Hair Test Interpretation, Andy says that high hair zinc may > mean more vitamin B-6 is needed. Doesn't this apply in this case? ------ ---------Yes, you're right! It was late when I was typing this, and I repeated what he said from HTI, not considering that you are using ALA. I think Andy has eased up on that thought about lowering zinc with ALA though. Hopefully somebody else will remember. But I know it is one of the most important minerals to supplement with mercury poisoning.------------Jackie > > > > Location: Madrid, Spain > > 1) Current symptoms and medical history; > > Male, 40. > > Brain fog, coldness, muscular weakness, multiple infections, fatigue, > > some muscular pain. > > > These problems slowly started when I was very young (14? 16? 18?) and > > have increased (with on's and off's periods) to something that today, > > without supplementation, is quite miserable. Many of us do need this. Saliva testing is best > for adrenals. For thyroid you need free T3, free T4, and TSH. > > ------------For thyroid, also test for antibodies.--------Jackie > > ------Yes, besides brain fog the problems that most bother me are thyroid and adrenal-like so I should take care of them. I am a little bit scared of adrenal suppression, so I though trying to support adrenals with vit C, licorice and such, trying to avoid HC. ---------It is certainly fine and probably appropriate to try other things first. Can you get adrenal cortex extract in Spain? That is another thing to try, before HC. I am using it with HC now, and I feel it is helping.----------Jackie I am also reluctant of using Armour thyroid because I've been told that this will add further stress to adrenals... But really I am not very sure about this. ------------This is correct, and it's why they say to treat your adrenals first. And this happened to me, before I knew better. A doctor let me try Armour, but he didn't understand the adrenal thing, and I crashed harder after a few weeks. So I truly believe that statement. Adrenals first.----------Jackie I will try the saliva test. Regarding T3, I have tried it to be tested many times. Even I have found some doctor who asked for it to be tested, without success. It seems no one considers the possibility of having T4->T3 conversion problems. Moreover, I have been unable to find in Spain any drug combining T4 and T3, just only T4. -----------Can you get saliva testing in Spain? Otherwise, I think somebody posted that you can order them from ZRT Labs and they will send it overseas. Check out their website. You might be able to get thyroid testing from them also.----Jackie Just curious: I don't see in the results the characteristic pattern expected for thyroid/adrenal problems. Does it mean the problems are relatively mild, and so this is why I find such a big relief in things like licorice?------ ---------It could be. And you are correct, you don't have the obvious adrenal pattern in your hair, so they might not be too bad off. And your thyroid ratio is in range also. Now Andy has said that these aren't always 100%. For example, I have high blood sugar problems, but it didn't jump out on my hair test either (may have been timing too). And my first hair test didn't have the classic adrenal pattern, 3 of the 4 were very low, but I definitely had adrenal problems. But then explained to me that my potassium was low red, and she said that in itself was a sign of adrenal problems, so that explained that.-----------Jackie > > 3) Supplements; medications and chelating schedule at the time of hair > > test; > > > > Vit C (as sodium ascorbate): 1 tsp 3 times per day. > > Vit E: 400 IU 3 times per day > > B-50: 3 times per day > > Magnesium: 400 mg three times per day > > Zinc: 50 mg once > > Chromium picolinate: 200 mcg three times per day > > Milk thistle: 3 times per day > > Hydergine: 1,125 mg three times per day (Just started few days ago, > > currently slowly increasing) > > Andy recommends some additional supplements in Amalgam Illness, such > as EFAs, molybdenum, and others. Do you have any idea >where the arsenic came from?------Jackie -------My mother was almost as exposed as my father, since she worked with him at the shop and clearly more exposed than me. Hope my kids have inherited this genes of her! ----------This is very interesting, and is proof that some people are naturally better detoxers than others. And some say it also has to do with individual sensitivity to the metals, like the test. So yes, keep hoping that your kids get her genes! But if they don't, at least you know what to do.----------Jackie --------No idea of where the arsenic comes from. But checking against the symptoms Cutler describes for arsenic toxic people I don't feel described in them: no skin eruptions, I do eat lots of carbohydrates and I am not aware of problems because of this, don't have chemical sensitivity nor vision problems beyond what is normal at 40. However I will add B12 and folic acid and will consider TMG, but I already have very low cholesterol. Wouldn't be a bad idea in this case?------ ----------You can try these supplements and see if they help. But if you don't notice anything, you may not need them. And maybe mercury is your main problem. Arsenic is one of the things that goes up, when mineral transport is deranged from mercury poisoning. My arsenic comes from my well water, so you might want to check your water source. Otherwise, maybe it came from your father's lab?----Jackie > > Interesting. Your hair test agrees that you are very toxic, since > it comes close to meeting all three rules. You have lots of > chelation ahead of you. > -----Yes, it seems you will have to stand my broken English for a while! However, since I have so much improved with supplements, I though maybe I was just moderately poisoned! Now I think maybe I should be ready for four years of chelation! -------- -----------First, I think you're English is very good! And second, it's best to prepare for the long haul, but if all goes well, maybe you'll be done sooner!-------Jackie ---------And I have to say, I am impressed with what you have learned already. Good luck and keep us posted on how you're doing!---------Jackie
