I guess I am when *they* are not knocking my confidence. It has taken me

two traumatic birth experiences to be as determined as I am this time

You can do it, you will do it, you can do it, you will ..........

You may already be a member but there is a yahoo group called HBAC which you

would probably find really useful and supportive.

I found my IMW via the Independent Midwives Associations' Website which I

saw Vicky posted the link for you. Have a look at this page on 's

Homebirth site for more info.

To give you an idea of cost (which very much depends on which MW and where

in the country you are for all the ante-natal, birth and post-natal care it

costs in the region of 1,500 to 4,000 with the average being 2,500.

We went through a lot of soul searching in deciding whether this was the

best thing for us to do as it has meant us remortgaging our house. But when

we met the Independent MW it was clear that she was able to instil

confidence in us and that we could have the birth of our choice with her and

she would enable us to have that in a calm and professional manner which put

our needs first and foremost, not any policies or procedures etc. She will

know us intimately by the time Babi arrives and I know that will make such a

difference to me, Gethyn and ultimately Babi
