It drives me and two of my friends loopy that our HV always says " Some people like to do X " , or " You could try Y " and never comes down off her fence! Though I have to say that the majority of those I felt were just waiting to say " Look I did what you said and it didn't work " and not wanting to take responsibility (I know that doesn't describe you - and I bet it didn't describe them when talking to their friends) The reality of parenting for the most part though is that there isn't a definitive answer to a lot of things - it's your fence not the HVs :-) (AKA informed choice :-)))) -- jennifer@...
