Guest guest
I remember there being a thread on this a while ago so thought I'd relate what's happened with Mari's nursery place (she will be 4 during the forthcoming school year so is entitled to a free place). She will be attending a Welsh Language School so we want her to attend a Welsh Language Nursery. The LA WL Nursery is full! Pupil Support told me of two other private WL nurseries near me that they would fund - they are full! Early Years Development Officer told me of a further 2 which are day care rather than nursery - I have now managed to get her a place in the day care nursery but it will mean her going two full days rather than 5 AMs or PMs, this in theory will mean that we have to 'top up' the funding but I'll fight that one when we come to it The situation in our area is pretty dire, there is a high demand for Welsh Medium Education and the provision just doesn't seem to be keeping up with it. On the positive side the people I spoke to at the LA were really helpful and understood my situation (i.e. no transport, Babi due September, please don't make me walk 8 miles a day!!) and didn't make me take the place that was 2 miles away altho by regulations they could have Jenni (& Gethyn) nearly 17yrs, Mari 3yrs (HB), Babi Bach exp.09/2001
