Guest guest
If those of you in costal areas are at a loose end this weekend and not sure what to do with your dynamos you could always pop along to your nearby RNLI Station and have a look at the lifeboats and meet the crews. I'm busy making cakes for ours and will spend tomorrow painting faces. Not sure which stations are open which days. Hope this isn't counted as spamming (apologize if it is)but I was waiting for a cake to cool before I get the next one in. Guest guest
I'm not in a coastal area, but would highly recommend this. We spent a week in Sennen Cove last month, near Land's End, and had a great morning visiting the lifeboat and hearing the stories. It really made us think a lot about the RNLI (not something I do much, living inland!), but these guys are so totally tied to their jobs. Despite it being voluntary, a lot don't go on holidays or even go far from the village in case there's a call out. Over the course of our week down there, we would see the crew around the village doing various things, but always watching the sea...... Having said that, if I lived in Sennen Cove, I wouldn't need to go on holiday either - it is just beautiful! Hope you have a good " lifeboat " day today, Caroline.
