Good luck with the herbs. My reaction was not right away; it was after using

them for

about a month. Good for you for doing your homework. I have to be that way more!

Anne. That was nice to hear. Thanks for mentioning it.

Finding a good doctor is truly a wonderful thing.

I'll mention though, that there may be more in the way of knowledge

about mercury in these system than we may know. For one thing, it

appears that metals have been discovered independently, three times: by

the Chinese, the Indians, and the people of the Middle East. Each gave

rise to an alchemy/alchemical medicine. Each form of medicine has an

arm that uses minerals and metals - in very small quantities, mind you,

but they do make use of them. Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, and

Unani medicine all have arms that are alchemical. In fact, Paracelcus,

who introduced metals into the western pharmacopea, was using mercury,

arsenic, antimony and laudanum (opium) after having been dabbling in

fairly newly translated (al)chemical (middle-eastern) texts. (Most of

that stuff the Romans had destroyed, for fear that someone would make

gold out of lead and destroy the financial basis of their empire, which

was their monopoly on the production of precious metals.) The thing is,

he was clearly completely poisoned and had no comprehension of the texts

- he was using truly massive quantities of the stuff while mocking

herbal medicine (that went back to Hippocrates through Galen) as " too

weak " . (Thus, our modern " heroic " medicine.)

I found a really intersting article on Indian yogic uses of mercury

(which has always been associated with the mystical). I wonder about

it's veracity, though the author is a double PhD (Sanskrit and

Philosophy), runs a well-known ashram in Western PA, and clearly knows

how to identify the medical effects of mercury. Also, the yogic

purification techniques depend on the use of sulfur, which we know can

bind powerfully to mercury, which is spread on the skin, which we also

know is an important eliminatory organ. I also wonder about the

author's own condition, given that he went on this quest, and seems to

understand at least some aspects of it so well.

Hi Dave

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm glad that you had so much

benefit from the Chinese herbal treatment. Thats the great thing

about Chinese Medicine and other ancient health systems Ayurveda

isn't it, that even though they are lacking when it comes to issues

such as chelation they contain so much wisdom which is completely

missed by allopathic medicine because they do see the big picture and

work on strengthening on strengthening our bodies as a whole. And as

you say particularly so with the older practitioners because they

have such a wealth of knowledge.

The herbs I've been using are based on a very old Chinese formula

called Rehmannia 6 but with a few other herbs added to it and like

with you I've had lots of benefits like feeling warmer, more colour

to my cheeks, brighter eyes, better concentration and mood so for now

I'm happy to continue taking them and hope they dont cause any

problems with regards to the mercury.

I hope you continue to make improvements.
